Welcome to the Bahá’í community of Aberdeen.

There has been a Bahá’í community in Aberdeen since the 1960’s which has been enriched by incoming students to either of our 2 universities, indeed at one of our universities we support the Bahá’í Society.

Aberdeen Bahá’ís are a part of the U.K.
and worldwide community of Bahá’ís.

Our local activities include devotionals, firesides, study circles and home visits. For our activities, please see the Calendar.

For more detailed information about the British and International Bahá’í communities, and the beliefs and teachings of the Bahá’í Faith by clicking to the Useful
Links page.

We all come from different backgrounds and many different countries and yet share a faith that inspires us to work peacefully together to try to achieve the spiritual and practical unity of the diverse human family. If you’d like to meet some of us click
here.

Here you can find out about
who we are, what we do, our local events, and how to get in touch with us.

What Bahá’ís believe

The purpose of religion as revealed from the heaven of God's Holy Will is to establish unity and concord amongst the peoples of the world; make it not the cause of dissension and strife.

BAHÁ’U’LLÁH

According to the needs of the times, we believe that God has sent to humanity,
a series of Divine Educators. These Divine Educators include Abraham, Krishna,
Moses, Buddha, Zoroaster, Jesus, Muhammad, the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh.
Their social and spiritual teachings guide humanity’s efforts to advance civilisation.

"These principles and laws, these firmly established and mighty systems, have proceeded from one Source, and are the rays of one Light."

BAHÁ’U’LLÁH

The Aberdeen Bahá’ís believe that Bahá’u’lláh, is the most recent of these Divine Educators, who teaches us that humanity is slowly maturing. His Writings provide a wealth of spiritual teachings that assist us on this path towards maturity, and in building a peaceful and unified world.

Great figures in our Faith

The Báb (The Gate), founded the Babi Faith. He told his followers of "One whom God shall make Manifest" that was to follow Him, whom they should follow.

This was Bahá’u’lláh, (The Glory of God), whose title means the "Glory of God", and he founded the Bahá'í Faith.

Bahá’u’lláh appointed his son,
`Abdu'l-Bahá as His Successor and interpreter.

In His will,`Abdu'l-Bahá, in turn appointed
Shoghí Effendí Rabbání, His grandson as the Guardian of the Faith.

More detailed information can be found on the 'Useful Links' page
.

Bahá’ís believe that the B
áb and Bahá’u’lláh are the latest in a series of divinely inspired educators.
